Dingaleshwar Swamiji Warns BJP: Replace Joshi or Face Consequences, Deadline Set
Hubballi: Fakira Dingaleshwar Swamiji of the Shirahatti Bhavaikya Peetha has issued a stern ultimatum to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership, demanding the replacement of Dharwad BJP Lok Sabha constituency candidate Pralhad Joshi by March 31. Failure to comply will result in further action by Veerashaiva Lingayat Mutt heads on April 2 against the current MP from Dharwad.
In a press conference following a meeting with Lingayat Mutt heads, Dingaleshwar Swamiji accused Union Minister Pralhad Joshi of injustice towards Lingayats and systematic opposition to other communities. He alleged Joshi’s pivotal role in the removal of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and criticized his attitude, claiming Joshi to be intoxicated with power and insensitive to others.
Expressing deep dissatisfaction with Joshi’s conduct, the Swamiji disclosed that a resolution had been passed to demand Joshi’s replacement by March 31. Should the BJP fail to act by the deadline, a subsequent meeting will be convened on April 2 to decide on further steps. The Swamiji emphasized their committed stance and ruled out any possibility of negotiation.
Rumours doing rounds that Dingaleshwar Swamiji may contest the election from Dharwad seat against Joshi as an independent candidate, but he did not disclose this today.
The seer suggested that Joshi be relocated to another constituency, citing precedents set by the BJP in the past. Recounting past interactions, the Swamiji recalled instances of perceived disrespect from Joshi and his brother, suggesting a pattern of disregard for the sentiments of the Lingayat community.
Despite assertions to the contrary, Dingaleshwar Swamiji clarified that the issue was not targeted at any specific community but rather Joshi’s behavior and approach towards others. The Swamiji reiterated their seriousness in demanding Joshi’s replacement, citing deep-seated grievances and hurt feelings within the community.
