Dharwad: Youth Chained and Forced to Work at Dhaba Over Father’s Debt

Dharwad: In a shocking incident, a youth was reportedly chained and forced to work at a dhaba near New Tegoor on the outskirts of Dharwad city. The incident came to light after reports revealed that the young man was being held as collateral for a loan his father had taken from the dhaba owner.

According to sources, both the father and son were employed at the dhaba. The father had borrowed ₹1 lakh from the eatery’s owner but went on leave, leaving the youth behind. To ensure the father’s return and prevent the son from escaping, the owner allegedly chained the youth at the establishment, which is known as Old Dhaba.

Superintendent of Police Dr. Gopal Byakod visited the site and instructed his team to take appropriate action against the perpetrators.
