Deepavali Crackdown: Hubballi Dharwad Police Seize Big Bucks in Gambling Bust

Hubballi: In a crackdown on illegal activities during the Deepavali celebrations, the Hubballi Dharwad Police have taken decisive action against 152 individuals engaged in gambling in the twin cities. A total of 12 cases have been registered against the offenders, with the police seizing a substantial sum of Rs 2.89 lakh during the operation.

Simultaneously, the Hubballi Dharwad Police turned their attention to illegal betting during the ICC Cricket World Cup match between Pakistan and England. Nine bookies found themselves in hot water as the police registered a total of seven cases against them. The bookies, involved in illicit betting activities surrounding the cricket match, had their operations disrupted, with a sum of Rs 29,610 seized by the authorities.
