CP Yogeshwar Joins Congress, To File Nomination on
Bengaluru, Oct 23: Former minister and BJP leader C P Yogeshwar, who recently stepped down from his position as BJP MLC, officially joined the Congress party on Wednesday. He is set to contest the upcoming by-election for the Channapatna assembly constituency, scheduled for November 13. The seat was vacated by Union Minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy.
Yogeshwar, a seasoned politician with five terms as an MLA, has represented Channapatna under various political banners including Congress, BJP, Samajwadi Party, and as an Independent. Initially intending to contest as an NDA candidate under the BJP symbol, he is now determined to run on a Congress ticket.
Yogeshwar will be filing nomination on Thursday, October 24. KPCC President DK Shivakumar said that the list of the names of the candidates will be sent to party highcommand and names of the candidates for all three bypolls will be announced today evening.
