Congress Veteran Shamanur Shivashankarappa Shocks Party, Urges Voters to Re-elect BJP MP in Shivamogga

Shivamogga: In a significant setback for the Karnataka Congress, veteran leader Shamanur Shivashankarappa publicly endorsed the re-election of BJP MP BY Raghavendra in the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency.

Speaking at an awards ceremony, Shivashankarappa praised Raghavendra for his contributions to the district’s development and urged residents to vote for him. The MLA emphasized the need for unity among Veerashaiva Lingayats, stating that members working in accordance with the people’s will should win upcoming elections.

This endorsement follows another blow to Congress as former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, who had recently joined the party, returned to the BJP on Thursday, marking a series of unexpected events for Congress in the state.
