Chaos at Pushpa 2 Premiere: Stampede in Hyderabad Claims Woman’s Life, Son Critical
Hyderabad: The highly anticipated premiere of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad, turned into a tragic event on December 4, as an overwhelming crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun. A stampede-like situation ensued, leading to the death of a 39-year-old woman and leaving her young son critically injured.
Revathi, a resident of Dilsukhnagar, had attended the premiere with her husband Bhaskar and their two children, nine-year-old Sri Tej and seven-year-old Sanvika. The family visited Sandhya 70mm Theatre on RTC Cross Roads to enjoy the movie’s debut screening. However, the crowd swelled uncontrollably when Allu Arjun made an unannounced appearance at the venue, flanked by a heavy police presence.
The chaos escalated as fans surged forward to get a closer look at the actor, causing Revathi and her son to collapse amidst the melee. Both were rushed to Durga Bhai Deshmukh Hospital in Vidyanagar, where doctors declared Revathi brought dead. Sri Tej, in critical condition, was later shifted to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet for advanced care.
Revathi’s body was subsequently transported to Gandhi Hospital’s mortuary. As the screening concluded, Allu Arjun departed under strict security, briefly waving to fans from his vehicle’s sunroof while appealing for calm and urging the crowd to allow traffic to flow.
