Chennai: Prolonged and intense rainfall has resulted in widespread flooding across various parts of Chennai city. Regrettably, approximately 10 individuals have lost their lives as a consequence of the inclement weather, profoundly impacting the lives of many. Numerous residents find themselves stranded in their residences, necessitating rescue efforts facilitated by boats.

Notably, even public figures, including Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, have encountered challenges stemming from the adverse weather conditions. Mr. Khan, who arrived in Chennai to arrange medical treatment for his mother, found himself in need of rescue services. Throughout the preceding days, he had been residing at the residence of Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal.

Compounded by the escalating water levels, the Karapakkam area, where Mr. Khan was situated, experienced a complete disruption of electricity and mobile signal for a continuous period of 24 hours. Mr. Vishnu Vishal took to Twitter, sharing visuals of a faint signal at a secluded corner of the terrace, underscoring their urgent need for assistance.

In response, a dedicated rescue team equipped with boats promptly arrived at the scene. Actor Vishnu Vishal, along with Aamir Khan and his family, was successfully evacuated to a secure location. Photographs capturing this rescue operation have since become viral, portraying Aamir Khan and Vishnu Vishal, among others, being transported to safety aboard a rescue boat.
