CCEA Approves Eight Major Road Projects Across India
New Delhi: On August 2, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave the green light to eight national high-speed road corridor projects, as announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. These ambitious infrastructure initiatives, spanning 936 km, come with a hefty price tag of ₹50,655 crore and are projected to generate 4.42 crore mandays of employment.
Key projects include:
- A 68-km Ayodhya Ring Road (₹3,935 crore), aimed at easing pilgrim traffic to Rama Mandir.
- A 231-km Kharagpur-Moregram corridor in West Bengal (₹10,247 crore), enhancing regional connectivity.
- An 88-km Agra-Gwalior corridor (₹4,613 crore), boosting tourism.
- A 214-km Tharad-Ahmedabad corridor in Gujarat (₹10,534 crore), linking major national corridors.
Other approved projects include road developments in Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand, Kanpur, Guwahati, and Pune. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to bolstering India’s infrastructure, with a focus on improving connectivity, supporting tourism, and facilitating economic growth across various regions.
