Breakthrough in Clapham Chemical Assault Case: Body Found in Thames
LONDON: Scotland Yard has reported the recovery of a body from the Thames in the search for Abdul Ezedi, wanted for a chemical assault in Clapham.
The attack on a woman and her two daughters on January 31 left the 31-year-old woman with life-changing injuries. Ezedi, who was injured in the attack, was sought by police, with appeals for information on his whereabouts.
Marine police focused on the Thames after concluding he entered the river post-assault. A body was spotted at Tower Pier, and while visual identification is challenging due to river conditions, distinctive clothing and found property suggest it may be Ezedi.
The woman’s condition has improved, and police express gratitude for public support in the investigation. Formal identification methods, such as DNA testing, will be pursued.
