Boy Dies After Bicycle Contacts Live Wire on Way Home from School
In a heartbreaking incident in Kadapa town, Andhra Pradesh, an 11-year-old boy lost his life due to electrocution on Wednesday afternoon when his bicycle became entangled in an exposed live wire. A 10-year-old boy, riding as a pillion, sustained severe injuries in the incident.
The two boys, Tanvir and Aadam, were on their way home from school when they came into contact with a live wire that had fallen from a pole. CCTV footage captured the harrowing moment as both boys collapsed to the ground. While passersby quickly intervened to remove the wire and assist the children, Tanvir tragically died at the scene. Aadam was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The incident has left the local community in shock, with widespread anger directed at the Electricity Department for alleged negligence.
Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation. Initial findings suggest that a dish TV cable had come into contact with the live electrical wire, leading to the fatal accident.
Kadapa MLA Madhavi Reddy visited the grieving family, offering condolences and assuring them of government support. Education Minister Nara Lokesh also expressed deep sorrow over the incident, extending his sympathies to the families of both Tanvir and Aadam. He emphasized the need for strict precautions by the Electricity Department to prevent such tragedies in the future. Lokesh also assured that the state government would provide all necessary assistance to the affected families and ensure that Aadam receives the best possible medical care.
