BJP Announces Big Names: Shah to contest from Gandhi Nagar, Rajeev Chandrashekhar from thiruvananthapuram
The BJP on Saturday announced it’s first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In a press conference, BJP’s general secretary Vinod Tawde and vice president Baijayant Panda announced first list of candidates.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to contest from UP’s Varanasi seat, this apart, Lok Sabha speaker, two former ministers, 34 union ministers included in the list, said the leaders.
*Union Home Minister Amit Shah will contest from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar
Former MP CM Shivaraj Singh Chouhan will contest from Vidhisha, Hema Malini to contest from Mathura, G Kishan Reddy from Secunderabad, Dushyant Singh from Alwar, Rajasthan.
Gajendrasingh Shekhawat from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Rajeev Chandrashekhar from Tiruvanthapuram, Sarbanand Sonowal to contest from Dibrugarh.
LS Speaker Om Birla to contest from Kota, Rajasthan, Mansukh Mandaviya to contest from Porbandar, Bandi Sanjay to contest from Karinagar in Telangana.
Anil Anthony to contest from pathanamthitta, Kerala, Vijay Baghel to contest from Durg, Late Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj to contest from New Delhi. Kiren Rijiju to contest from Arunachal west, Arun Meghwal from
Jyotiraditya Scindia will contest from Guna in Madhya Pradesh, for Delhi, Praveen Khandelwal, Manoj Tiwari. BJP leadership has not announced candidates from Karnataka, Tamil Nadua and Andhra Pradesh so far.
In the first list of the BJP, tickets have been allotted to 28 women, while 47 young candidates have been given an opportunity. The BJP has given tickets to 27 SC and 18 ST candidates.
