Bengaluru Techie Arrested for Staging Robbery to Steal Boyfriend’s Phone
Bengaluru: In a carefully planned robbery with a dramatic twist, Bengaluru police have arrested a tech professional, Shruti, and three accomplices for orchestrating a theft against her boyfriend, Vamsikrishna Reddy. The incident occurred on September 20 when Vamsikrishna went to meet Shruti. As the two were leaving, a Swift car collided with Vamsikrishna’s motorcycle, leading to a confrontation.
Robbery Staged by Girlfriend
During the altercation, the attackers forcibly took Vamsikrishna’s mobile phone, and in a surprising turn of events, also took Shruti’s phone. In an attempt to divert suspicion, Shruti urged Vamsikrishna not to report the theft, claiming it wasn’t worth filing a complaint. Despite her plea, Vamsikrishna filed a report with the Bellandur police, providing the vehicle’s license plate number. Following an investigation, authorities apprehended Shruti and the other suspects involved.
Motive Behind the Robbery
Police revealed that Shruti had orchestrated the entire plan, instructing the accomplices to deliberately stage the crash and steal Vamsikrishna’s phone. Shruti had been attempting to distance herself from him, but he allegedly possessed photos and videos of the two. In a bid to erase this compromising content, Shruti reportedly paid ₹1.5 lakh to have his phone stolen.
The Bellandur police have now arrested Shruti and three others involved in the plot, bringing the case to light after an extensive investigation.
