Ahmedabad: Australia produced a disciplined bowling performance to restrict India to 240 runs in the high-stakes World Cup final. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood were the pick of the bowlers, taking three and two wickets respectively, while Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, and Adam Zampa also chipped in with wickets.

India got off to a shaky start, losing Shubman Gill early on. However, it was Rohit Sharma’s quick 47 had an impact on entire India’s batting innings. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul steadied the ship with a solid partnership of 54 runs. Ravindra Jadeja and Suryakumar Yadav also made valuable contributions, but regular wickets kept India’s scoring rate in check.

Australia’s bowlers were impressive throughout the innings, maintaining a tight line and length and exploiting the Indian batsmen’s weaknesses. They were also sharp in the field, taking some fine catches.

In the end, India managed to post a competitive total of 240 runs, but it will be a tough ask to chase down against India’s formidable bowling attack. Because of less runs on the board, Indian fans are worried with the outcome of the match.
