Anjali Murder Case: Rajat Demands Transfer of COP and Her Deputies
Hubballi: Congress leader Rajat Ullagaddimath has urged the government to consider a restructuring of the Hubballi Police Commissionerate following the murder of Anjali Ambiger.
He specifically called for the immediate transfer of Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar and her deputies, M. Rajeev and Ravish. Ullagaddimath alleges that the police failed to act on a complaint filed by Anjali’s family regarding a threat to her life, ultimately leading to her murder.
“The victim’s family reported a threat, but the police took no preventive measures,” stated Ullagaddimath. “This incident clearly demonstrates a lack of proactive policing. While suspending the concerned inspector and head constable is a step, it’s insufficient. The Commissioner, her deputies, and the ACP South should be transferred.”
Ullagaddimath further emphasized the need for stricter leadership, urging the appointment of officers who will take a firm stance against anti-social elements.
Anjali Ambiger was recently murdered by a suspect identified as Vishwa alias Girish Savanth in the early morning hours at her residence in Veerapur Oni.
