Kalaburgi: Six members of a family perished in an accident in Kalaburgi as they were returning from Chittapur, where they had gone for Aadhaar Card rectification. The tragic incident occurred on NH 150 near Halkarti village in Chittapur taluk when the auto-rickshaw they were traveling in collided head-on with a tanker. The family, residents of Nalwar village, hired an auto-rickshaw for the journey.

The collision resulted in a devastating scene, with the tanker dragging the auto-rickshaw for about 100 meters. The bodies of the deceased, including Najmeen Begum (28), Bibi Fatima (12), Abubakkar (4), Bibi Mariyamm (3 months), Mohammed Pasha (20), and auto-rickshaw driver Baba (35), were scattered on the road. Mohammed Hussain (10) suffered injuries in the accident. The family had undertaken the journey for Aadhaar Card rectification, and the accident occurred during their return to Nalwar village from Chittapur.

The injured Mohammed Hussain, a resident of Nalwar village in ward number 1 near Akani Masjid, is currently receiving medical attention. This heartbreaking incident has left the community in shock and grief, highlighting the dangers faced during routine activities like correcting official documents.
