Woman Killed by Husband and Lover in Drishyam Style
In a chilling case that has shocked Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district, a 28-year-old woman fell victim to a gruesome murder allegedly orchestrated by her estranged husband and paramour. The incident, which occurred on July 19, came to light when the victim’s father reported her missing on July 22.
Kabirdham police have arrested two suspects: Lukesh Sahu (29), the victim’s estranged husband, and Raja Ram Sahu (26), with whom she was reportedly in a relationship. Additional Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar revealed that the duo’s motive stemmed from financial pressures and personal grievances.
In a twist that blurs the line between fiction and reality, the accused reportedly drew inspiration from the Bollywood thriller “Drishyam,” starring Ajay Devgn. They watched the film multiple times, studying techniques to commit the crime and evade law enforcement.

The victim, who had been living separately from her husband for three years due to marital discord, was receiving court-mandated maintenance for her three children. This financial obligation had allegedly pushed Lukesh into debt, fueling his resentment.
Meanwhile, Raja Ram, also from the same village, claimed to have given the victim substantial sums of money and gifts, totaling around Rs 1.50 lakh. He expressed frustration over her persistent demands for more.
On the fateful day, the conspirators lured the victim to Ghanikhuta forest under false pretenses. There, they allegedly strangled her with her own saree before burying the body in a remote valley. In an attempt to cover their tracks, they disposed of evidence across multiple locations, including the victim’s two-wheeler and mobile phone in the Karranala barrage.
The police investigation, utilizing technical evidence and call records, led to the arrest of both men on Sunday. Authorities have since recovered the victim’s body, vehicle, jewelry, and other items related to the crime.
