West Indies Legend Dwayne Bravo Retires from Cricket, Ends Illustrious 21-Year Career

Dwayne Bravo has officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after his final Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season was cut short due to injury. The West Indies all-rounder sustained a groin injury while playing for the Tobago Knight Riders against the St Lucia Kings, forcing him to leave the field without bowling an over. Bravo, who had retired from international cricket in 2021 and stepped away from the IPL, confirmed this CPL would be his last season.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Bravo reflected on his 21-year career, expressing gratitude for the sport that had given him everything. He acknowledged that while his mind wanted to keep going, his body could no longer endure the physical strain. Over his career, Bravo became a T20 cricket icon, winning major titles in the IPL, PSL, and Big Bash, and securing two T20 World Cups with the West Indies. He retires with 631 wickets in T20 cricket, second only to Kieron Pollard.
