Uttarakhand Man Allegedly Murders Wife with Snake Venom to Claim ₹25 Lakh Insurance Payout
In a shocking incident in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, a man has been accused of murdering his wife by injecting her with snake venom in a bid to claim a ₹25 lakh life insurance payout. The case emerged after the victim’s brother, Ajit Singh, lodged a complaint with the Jaspur police against the accused, Shubham Chaudhary.
According to reports, Shubham allegedly killed his wife, Saloni Chaudhary, on August 11, just weeks after taking out a life insurance policy on July 15, with himself named as the beneficiary. Ajit Singh accused Shubham of subjecting Saloni to both mental and physical abuse, which led her to seek a divorce due to his extramarital affair four years prior. Despite numerous panchayats aimed at resolving their issues, Shubham’s abusive behavior persisted.
Following Ajit’s complaint, a murder case has been filed against Shubham, his parents, and another accomplice under BNS Section 103(1). Initially categorized as a suspicious death, the investigation has escalated to a murder inquiry. Saloni’s viscera have been sent for forensic analysis to gather further evidence against Shubham in this chilling case.
