USA: Texas Authorities Locate Body of Missing Schoolgirl

The body of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham, who went missing last week in Livingston, Texas, has been discovered near the Trinity River.

Audrii was last seen on February 15 when she missed her school bus. Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons announced the tragic discovery, expressing sorrow over the situation.

Don Steven McDougal, a friend of Audrii’s father and a person of interest, had promised to take her to the bus stop and was the last person to see her.

McDougal, arrested on an unrelated charge, is now a suspect in the case, with an arrest warrant being prepared for capital murder. Authorities coordinated efforts to locate Audrii’s body, leading to the heartbreaking revelation.

The Livingston Independent School District superintendent, Dr. Brent Hawkins, extended condolences to Audrii’s family and the community.
