Tragic Incident: Four Indians Lose Lives in Fiery SUV Crash in Texas
In a devastating incident on August 30, four Indian nationals lost their lives in a fiery multi-vehicle collision in Texas, USA. The crash, which involved at least five vehicles, resulted in their SUV bursting into flames, leaving the victims’ bodies severely charred. Authorities are now using DNA testing to confirm their identities.
The deceased have been identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati and Farooq Shaik from Hyderabad, Lokesh Palacharla from East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, and Dharshini Vasudevan from Tamil Nadu. The victims were en route to Bentonville, Arkansas, after connecting via a carpooling app. Orampati and Shaik were returning from a visit to Dallas, Palacharla was heading to meet his wife, and Vasudevan was traveling to see her uncle.
The tragic accident occurred when a speeding truck collided with their SUV. Three others were injured in the crash. According to reports, the victims were traveling to different destinations for personal reasons.
In a poignant social media post, Dharshini Vasudevan’s father, seeking assistance from India’s Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar, detailed his daughter’s travel and residence in the US. He expressed distress over the loss of contact with her and requested help in locating her remains.
Farooq Shaik’s father revealed that his son had been studying in the US for the past three years and had recently completed his M.S. His sister, also in the US, is working with authorities regarding the recovery of Farooq’s remains.
