Three members of a family dies by suicide
In a tragic turn of events in Andhra Pradesh’s YSR (Kadapa) district, three members of a family have taken their own lives, allegedly driven to despair by the tampering of their land records by local revenue officials.
Subba Rao (47), a weaver by profession, along with his wife and daughter, decided to end their lives as they faced insurmountable hurdles in selling their three-acre land due to alterations in the official records pertaining to it.
This heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Kotha Madhavaram, situated in the Vontimitta mandal, on a somber Saturday.
The lifeless bodies of Padmavathi (41) and her daughter Vinay (17) were discovered hanging within their residence. Meanwhile, Subba Rao met his demise by leaping in front of a passing train in the same village.
Authorities recovered a suicide note, revealing the family’s profound distress over their inability to sell their land due to fraudulent changes made by revenue officials. Subba Rao’s poignant words lamented the betrayal by those in charge of maintaining the records, leaving them with no recourse but to take their own lives.
