Thalapathy Vijay Launches Party Anthem and Flag for Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam
Chennai: Renowned Tamil film actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar (Thalapathy Vijay) unveiled the flag of his political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), on Thursday at the party headquarters in Panaiyur, near Chennai.
The flag features a striking design with maroon at the top and bottom, while the center showcases yellow adorned with motifs of two battling tuskers flanking the Vaagai flower. This event also marked the official launch of the party anthem, signaling a significant moment in Tamil Nadu politics as TVK prepares for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
Although Vijay announced the formation of his party in February, he opted not to participate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and refrained from endorsing any political party during that time.
During the flag unveiling, Vijay, along with his party members, took a pledge that emphasized honoring those who sacrificed their lives for the nation and the countless soldiers who fought for the rights of the Tamil people.
The party committed to addressing societal divisions related to caste, religion, gender, and birthplace, with a focus on raising awareness and promoting equal rights and opportunities for all.
