Telugu film industry’s veteran actor Chandra Mohan has passed away on Saturday. He was 82. The popular actor had been suffering from heart-related ailments for the last few months.

Chandra Mohan is survived by two daughters and other family members. He was well-known for his roles as the parent of the lead actor or actress in movies.

He had been admitted to Apollo Hospital due to heart-related problems and passed away around 10 am this morning, according to the hospital management. His final rites will be conducted on November 13, as per family sources. His mortal remains will be kept for public viewing on Saturday and Sunday.

Chandra Mohan had a prolific career in the film industry, starting in 1966. He acted in over 900 films, including the iconic “Shankarabharanam.” Besides playing supporting roles, he also took on lead roles in some movies. His contribution to Telugu cinema has left an indelible mark.

He born in Pamidimukkala village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh and cousin of veteran filmmaker K. Viswanath.
