Lucknow: In the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in Uttar Pradesh, a fierce contest is anticipated between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP)-Congress alliance. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), led by Mayawati, has opted to go solo and will be fielding candidates for all 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Despite ongoing discussions about seat sharing with the Congress, the SP took a significant stride on Tuesday by releasing its inaugural list of candidates for 16 seats. Notably, Dimple Yadav, the wife of SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav, is among the prominent figures in the list and is set to contest from the Mainpuri seat.

As part of the opposition’s I.N.D.I.A bloc, the Samajwadi Party has extended an offer to the Congress, allocating a total of 11 seats for the alliance. With the political landscape heating up in Uttar Pradesh, the stage is set for a dynamic electoral battle in the state with crucial implications for the larger national picture.
