Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar to Meet Congress Top Brass in Delhi Over Governor’s Prosecution Nod

Bengaluru: The Congress high command has summoned Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to New Delhi on Friday, following the former’s entanglement in a controversy surrounding the Governor’s approval of a prosecution sanction in a corruption case.

According to insiders, both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, who also serves as the Karnataka Congress president, are set to meet with party leader Mallikarjun Kharge. Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, is also expected to participate in the discussions.

While the precise agenda of the meeting remains unclear, it is anticipated that the two state leaders will update the central leadership on the implications of the Governor’s decision and outline the state government’s and party unit’s strategy to address the allegations.

Siddaramaiah has criticized Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, accusing him of bias in granting the prosecution sanction.

Siddaramaiah will fly to Delhi today afternoon, and prior to that he will be chairing a meeting with the legislators and ministers.
