Mumbai: Shefali Jariwala, best known for her electrifying performance in the early 2000s hit music video Kaanta Laga, passed away late Friday night at the age of 42. The popular dancer and actress, who became a household name with just one song, reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.
Sources close to the family revealed that Shefali was urgently taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital around midnight by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with a few close aides. Despite the medical team’s efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Though she never established a full-fledged Bollywood career, Shefali remained a familiar face through the years. After her breakout moment with Kaanta Laga, she made brief appearances in films such as Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and the Kannada hit Hudugaru. She also featured in multiple music videos and dance reality shows that kept her in the limelight.
Her television journey was equally notable—Shefali participated in shows like Nach Baliye (seasons 5 and 7), Boogie Woogie, and Bigg Boss 13, where she became a fan favourite for her spirited presence and candid personality.
The sudden demise of the dancer-turned-actor has left her fans and peers in shock, with tributes pouring in from across the entertainment industry.
