Bengaluru: As Day 3 of the first Test unfolds in Bengaluru, India’s openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal are putting up a strong resistance against New Zealand. The pair is finding the boundary regularly, laying the groundwork for what India hopes will be a determined fightback after a tough first innings.
Earlier in the day, New Zealand set a commanding total of 402, powered by Rachin Ravindra’s impressive 134 and Devon Conway’s solid 91. The Kiwis had put India under severe pressure after bowling them out for a paltry 46 in the first innings. Tim Southee also contributed with a brisk 65 to further strengthen New Zealand’s position.
