Renukaswamy Murder Case: Karnataka HC Hears Arguments on Darshan’s Bail
The Karnataka High Court, on December 9, heard actor Darshan’s bail plea in the Renukaswamy murder case. The hearing took place before a single-judge bench presided over by Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty.
Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) P. Prasanna Kumar opposed the bail, presenting evidence of Darshan’s alleged role in luring, kidnapping, and assaulting Renukaswamy, leading to his death. The SPP cited eyewitness accounts, forensic findings, and blood evidence on Darshan’s belongings, along with call records linking him to the crime.
Darshan’s counsel, C.V. Nagesh, refuted these claims, stating that Darshan complied with interim bail conditions and required bail extension for urgent surgery scheduled on December 11. The defense highlighted inconsistencies in forensic reports and delays in witness statements. They argued that the injuries cited could not have caused the blood evidence as claimed.
After hearing both sides, the court reserved its judgment and extended Darshan’s interim bail until the next hearing, allowing him to proceed with the medical procedure.
