Raichur Ashram Guruji Allegedly Assaults 8-Year-Old Boy
Raichur: In a disturbing incident, a man working at Raichur city’s Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram as Guruji has allegedly assaulted an eight-year-old boy studying in class three over a petty issue, sources said.
The boy, who was staying at the Ashram and attending school because his parents are extremely poor and unable to bear the cost of his studies, suffered injuries on his face, legs, and hands.
The accused, Venugopal, reportedly assaulted the boy, who was then admitted to the hospital. The exact reason for the assault remains unclear, but it is said that Venugopal attacked the boy without any provocation. Local K2 Kannada News reported that Venugopal filled the victim’s eyes with chili powder and kept him isolated in a dark room for three days.
The incident came to light when the boy’s mother accidentally came to the city to meet her child. Seeing the condition of her son, she immediately took him to the hospital. The accused was detained and brought to the West Police Station. The process of lodging an FIR in connection with the assault case is underway.
