Shivamogga: In a blistering attack on JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna is embroiled in a sexual abuse controversy, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did not mince words. Gandhi asserted that Revanna stands accused of a heinous crime, allegedly raping 400 women and capturing these atrocities on video. Gandhi went on to demand an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his apparent support of Revanna, whom he labeled a “mass rapist.”

Speaking at an election rally in Shivamogga, Karnataka, Gandhi directed his ire at PM Modi, insisting that he owes an apology to the women of India. According to Gandhi, Modi’s endorsement of Revanna during a public appearance in Karnataka amounts to an endorsement of his alleged crimes. Gandhi emphasized that every woman in Karnataka should be aware that when Modi campaigned for Revanna, he was fully cognizant of the accusations against him.

Furthermore, Gandhi accused the BJP of knowingly supporting Revanna despite being aware of the serious allegations against him. He painted the BJP’s alliance with JD(S) as a manifestation of their willingness to compromise principles for political power.

The controversy surrounding Prajwal Revanna stems from allegations of sexual abuse, with numerous explicit video clips purportedly implicating the 33-year-old MP circulating in his constituency of Hassan. The state government has launched a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the matter. Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, was the NDA candidate in the recent Lok Sabha elections in Hassan, having joined the NDA in the previous year.
