Prabhas’ latest film, “Salaar,” has emerged as the biggest blockbuster of the year, raking in an estimated Rs 95 crore on its opening day across all languages in India. Early reports indicate that the film performed exceptionally well in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, earning Rs 70 crore with an overall occupancy of 88.93% in Telugu regions. It also showcased strong box office numbers in Karnataka (Rs 12 crore) and Kerala (Rs 5 crore) on the first day.

This remarkable opening has propelled Prabhas ahead of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan,” Jawan, and Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal,” making “Salaar” the top opener of 2023. While “Pathaan” earned Rs 57 crore on its initial day in India, “Jawan” and “Animal” reported openings of Rs 75 crore and Rs 63 crore, respectively.

Directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, “Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire” features Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. The film, with a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes, has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board due to its intense combat, violence, and battle scenes.
