Police Register Case Against SDPI Members Over Inflammatory Remarks at Protest
Koppal: Police have registered an FIR against three leaders of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), for allegedly delivering a provocative speech during a protest rally organized by SDPI in Karatagi, Koppal district.
BJP Karatagi Mandal President Manjunath Maski filed a complaint with the Karatagi police against SDPI District Secretary Imran Ali alias Ifarn from Gangavati, SDPI Kanakagiri Assembly Constituency President Ajmeer Singanaala, and SDPI Kanakagiri Assembly Constituency Vice President Dawood Karatagi, accusing them of making inflammatory speeches during the protest.
The police have registered a case under IPC Sections 353(2), 352, 351, and R/W 3(5), and are continuing their investigation.
On September 13, Muslims in Karatagi town held a protest against the Central Government’s decision to implement the Waqf Bill-2024 Amendment Act.
During this protest, SDPI District Secretary Imran allegedly said in his speech, “Even if Savarkar’s descendants come, they cannot touch Muslim property. This Muslim community exists to end the lineage you come from. I would like to give this clear message to BJP and RSS.”
Koppal District Superintendent of Police Ram Arasiddi told Hubli EXPRESS News that no arrests have been made so far in connection with this case.
