Paris Olympics 2024: Nee ‘Rajat’ Chopra

Neeraj Chopra put in a strong performance at the Paris Olympics, securing the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw event. Chopra registered an impressive throw of 89.45 meters on his second attempt, showcasing his continued excellence in the sport.

However, it was Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem who stole the show, breaking the Olympic record with a phenomenal throw of 92.97 meters to clinch the gold medal. Nadeem’s historic achievement made him the first individual Olympic gold medalist from Pakistan.

In the qualification round, Neeraj Chopra had already displayed his prowess, registering a massive throw of 89.34 meters in Group B to secure his spot in the final. Chopra’s Tokyo 2020 gold medal victory had established him as one of the top javelin throwers in the world, and his silver medal-winning performance in Paris further cemented his status as an elite athlete.

Meanwhile, Arshad Nadeem also impressed in the qualification round, throwing a season-best of 86.59 meters to book his place in the final alongside Chopra. Nadeem’s ability to excel under the pressure of the Olympic stage was on full display as he surpassed the 90-meter mark, a feat he had previously achieved at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
