Old Rivalry: Man Stabbed Fatally, Dragged for Almost 2 km Tied to a Bike
In a horrifying incident in Noida’s Sector 49, a 50-year-old e-rickshaw driver, Mehndi Hasan, was brutally stabbed and dragged through the streets on Saturday evening. The perpetrators, identified as Anuj Kumar and Nitin Besla from Bulandshahr’s Baraula village, tied Hasan’s legs to a motorcycle and mercilessly dragged him, leaving a trail of blood, reported local media.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants were apprehended by the police after angry locals intervened, chasing them down. However, the shocking brutality didn’t end there. On Sunday morning, during a police attempt to recover the weapons used in the crime, the accused allegedly snatched a police revolver, prompting officers to retaliate by shooting them in the legs.
Hasan, the sole breadwinner for his family of six, succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital. Preliminary investigations reveal a six-year-old rivalry between Hasan and Anuj’s father, Vinod, resulting in Hasan being charged with attempted murder, a case still pending in court.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents expressing disbelief and fear. The accused are now in police custody, facing charges of murder and assault, while Hasan’s body has been taken to his hometown, Badaun, for funeral rituals. The gruesome episode highlights the urgent need for community safety and vigilance.
