Old Hubballi Inspector Suresh Yallur Faces Harassment Allegations; Lady Constables Write to DG
Hubballi: Old Hubballi Police Inspector Suresh Yallur is under fire as serious allegations have been leveled against him by the staff of his own police station. In a letter addressed to the Director General (DG) and Inspector General of Police (IGP), some staff members, including women constables, accused him of harassment and misconduct.
The letter, which was allegedly leaked to the media, claims that Inspector Yallur has been targeting certain staff members, particularly junior women constables, since taking charge. It further accuses him of favoritism, stating that he entertains a select few staff members who reportedly provide him with bribe money.
The allegations include denying staff their weekly offs, making vulgar comments and gestures toward women staff, and subjecting them to unnecessary harassment.
When Hubli Express contacted Inspector Suresh Yallur for his response, he dismissed the accusations as baseless. He stated that his strict work ethic might have upset some staff members. “If they had any issues with my working style or felt harassed, they should have approached my superiors for an inquiry. Instead, they wrote this letter and leaked it to the media, which clearly shows their intention to tarnish my image,” he said.
The inspector defended his actions, asserting that he demands 100% dedication from his team and that the letter is a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation. “There are proper channels for complaints. Leaking the letter to the media proves the motives behind this are not genuine,” he added.
