Hubballi: With the approaching Yugadi festival and the subsequent series of holidays, the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has announced additional special buses to accommodate the surge in public travel, according to H. Ramanagowdar, Divisional Controller of Hubballi Rural Division.

This year, Yugadi and Ramzan festivals fall within a day of each other, leading to a cluster of public holidays. From April 7, Sunday, to April 14, Sunday, there will be a total of 5 public holidays, including Yugadi and Ramzan, along with the second Saturday. With the option to take one or two personal leaves alongside these holidays, many individuals are expected to opt for an extended break, resulting in a significant increase in passenger traffic during this period. To ensure the comfort and convenience of travelers, special bus arrangements have been organized from April 6 to 15.

Anticipating the influx of government employees, private sector workers, entrepreneurs, and others returning to their hometowns from cities like Bengaluru, Pune, and Goa, additional special buses have been scheduled from Friday, April 5, to Sunday, April 7. These buses will operate routes connecting major cities to Hubballi.
Conversely, for those heading back to their work locations after the festive break, additional special buses have been arranged from Hubli to various destinations including Bengaluru, Pune, Goa, Mangalore, Vijayapura, and Bagalkot on Sunday, April 14, and Monday, April 15.

Furthermore, to accommodate the heightened demand for inter-district and intra-district travel, additional buses will be deployed during this period, ensuring seamless connectivity between various locations, as stated by Ramanagowdar.

To facilitate hassle-free travel, advance booking facilities for festival special buses are available via the NWKRTC website (https://www.ksrtc.in) or the KSRTC Mobile App, as well as at bus stands. Passengers booking four or more seats in a single ticket will receive a 5% discount on the fare, while those opting for a single ticket covering both onward and return journeys will enjoy a 10% discount on the return journey fare, Ramanagowdar added.
