NIA Raids Multiple Locations Including K’taka in Al-Qaeda Probe
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive searches at multiple locations across India on Monday, targeting individuals linked to Al-Qaeda’s conspiracy to destabilize the country.
The NIA investigation has revealed that a group of Bangladeshi nationals, suspected of supporting and funding Al-Qaeda, were actively involved in radicalizing and motivating vulnerable Muslim youth in India. These individuals were allegedly spreading Al-Qaeda’s extremist ideology, collecting funds, and transferring them to the terrorist organization.
During the raids, the NIA seized incriminating documents, digital devices, and other evidence related to terror funding activities. The recovered materials shed light on the accused’s involvement in detailed banking transactions and their efforts to propagate Al-Qaeda’s agenda in India.
In November 2023, the NIA filed a chargesheet against five accused, including four Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian national. The chargesheet details the accused’s role in forging documents, spreading Al-Qaeda’s ideology, collecting funds, and transferring these funds to the terrorist group.
The NIA’s ongoing investigation is aimed at dismantling the Al-Qaeda network and preventing its activities in India. The agency continues to work diligently to identify and apprehend individuals involved in terror-related activities.
