Narendra Modi to Launch Construction of Hubballi Airport’s Modern Terminal
Hubballi Airport New Terminal (News Update): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the foundation stone for the construction of a new terminal building at Hubballi Airport on March 10 at 12 pm. The PM will participate remotely from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The upcoming terminal aims to improve passenger handling capacity, providing a world-class experience.
Hubballi Airport is undergoing a significant expansion with the construction of a new terminal building. Here’s a summary of the project:
- Estimated Cost: 273 crore (approximately $33 million).
- New Terminal Capacity:Designed to handle 2400 peak-hour passengers (1200 arrivals and 1200 departures).
- Total Built-Up Area:Expected to be 20,000 sq. m, a significant increase from the existing terminal’s 3,600 sq. m.
- Additional Features:
- Four aerobridges for boarding and disembarking passengers directly from the terminal.
- Expanded apron to accommodate parking for 6 narrow-body aircrafts.
- Dedicated surface parking for cars, buses, taxis, and staff vehicles.
Current Status: Groundwork is expected to commence in March 2024, with full-fledged construction following in the second quarter. The project is expected to be completed within two years.
