Mr. McMahon: New Documentary Chronicles Vince McMahon’s Rise and Controversial Legacy
Vince McMahon, a pivotal figure in professional wrestling, is the focus of the upcoming documentary series Mr. McMahon, directed by Chris Smith, known for Tiger King. The series aims to “unveil the true Vince McMahon hidden behind the public persona” he cultivated over the years.
Smith shared with Netflix, “Throughout four years of production, the story took unexpected turns, leading to some deeply troubling allegations. We believe the final documentary presents a rich and complex portrait of McMahon and the intricate legacy he has left behind.”
Mr. McMahon is executive produced by Smith and Bill Simmons, and it chronicles McMahon’s journey from co-founding WWE to transforming it from a modest regional entity into a global entertainment titan, along with the serious sexual misconduct allegations that resulted in his resignation.
The series is built from over 200 hours of interviews featuring McMahon (before his resignation), his family, business partners, iconic wrestling figures, and journalists who played a role in bringing McMahon’s allegations to light.
Mr. McMahon will be available to stream on Netflix, with all six episodes premiering on September 25.
