New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a high-level roundtable with leading American tech CEOs to discuss innovation, collaboration, and India’s expanding technology sector. The meeting took place at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel during the second leg of Modi’s three-day visit to the United States.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering hosted the event, which featured industry leaders specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductors. Attendees included notable figures such as Sundar Pichai of Google, Jensen Huang of Nvidia, and Shantanu Narayen of Adobe.

Following the meeting, PM Modi shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation, and more. Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that discussions delved into advancements in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductors. The CEOs engaged in a detailed conversation with the Prime Minister on how these technologies are reshaping industries globally and improving lives, including in India.

A key focus of the talks was the ethical and responsible use of AI, with Modi emphasizing India’s “AI for All” policy. He assured the tech leaders of India’s strong framework for protecting intellectual property and creating an innovation-friendly environment.

The roundtable also underscored India’s growing startup ecosystem, which presents a dynamic entry point for U.S. firms looking to tap into the Indian market. Modi urged the executives to seize the opportunity to contribute to India’s rapid economic rise, with the country poised to become the third-largest economy in the near future.

MIT Professor Anantha Chandrakasan, who moderated the session, thanked PM Modi and the CEOs for their participation. He reiterated MIT’s dedication to leveraging technology for global progress and fostering deeper U.S.-India cooperation in critical tech sectors.
