Minister MB Patil and his Team Aims to Be Asia’s Manufacturing Hub – Delegation Heads to WEF Davos
Bengaluru: – Heavy and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil is set to lead a high-level delegation departing on January 14 to participate in the World Economic Forum-2024 annual meet in Davos, Switzerland, scheduled from January 15 to 19.
Patil emphasized that the delegation’s primary focus during the meeting would be to highlight the business-friendly policies of the Karnataka government, the well-established ecosystem, potential investment opportunities, the abundance of skilled human resources, the government’s commitment to enhancing student skills, and the efficiency of the single window system.
Under the theme ‘Innovation Will Impact,’ the delegation plans to conduct all its meetings in Davos, aiming to showcase Karnataka as Asia’s premier manufacturing hub. The government’s strategic focus encompasses sectors such as semiconductors, electric automotive, space and defense, clean energy, research and development, and artificial intelligence.
“Our government is dedicated to positioning Karnataka as a leading manufacturing hub in Asia. We are actively targeting key sectors, including semiconductors, electric vehicles, space and defense, clean energy, and cutting-edge research and development in artificial intelligence,” the minister stated.
The primary objective of the delegation is to attract additional investments and foster collaborations with potential business partners.
The delegation comprises key officials, including L.K. Athiq (Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister), Ekarup Kaur (Secretary, ITBT), S. Selvakumar (Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industry), Gunjan Krishna (Commissioner of Commerce and Industries), and Mahesh (CEO, Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board – KIADB), among others.
