Mantralaya Seer Demands Probe into Tirupati Laddu Controversy
Raichur: Sri Subudhendra Tirtha, the head of the Mantralaya Mutt, has called for a thorough investigation into allegations that animal fat was used in the laddu prasad at the Tirupati Tirumala Temple. Speaking at a private event in Raichur, he emphasized that such claims should be taken seriously, urging the government to conduct a comprehensive inquiry.
“The Tirupati Temple is a sacred site for Hindus, and if these allegations are true, it is a grave violation of religious sanctity,” he stated. Sri Subudhendra added that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already discussed the matter, stressing that strict legal action should be taken against those responsible.
He also addressed the importance of purification rituals at Tirupati, stating that his mutt would actively participate in the process to maintain the sanctity of the temple.
Sri Subudhendra further clarified the practice of receiving Sheshavastra from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) for the worship of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, emphasizing that offerings from temples are respected and that temple practices differ from those of mutts.
On the issue of the ghee used in the Mantralaya’s Parimala Prasada, he reassured that the ghee is sourced from Vijay Dairy and meets all food safety standards, refuting any concerns about its purity.
