Man Stabs Transgender Woman After Rejection in Tumakuru
Tumakuru: A shocking incident of violence occurred in the Fort area of Kunigal town, Tumakuru district, when a young man attempted to flee after stabbing a transgender woman who had rejected his romantic advances. Local residents apprehended the assailant and handed him over to the police.
The victim, identified as Haneesha, a 21-year-old transgender woman, was stabbed by Adil, a 23-year-old man from Mandya. According to sources, Haneesha and Adil had been in a relationship for the past six months.
Haneesha frequently traveled to different towns for LGBTQ+ community events, which reportedly became a source of conflict in their relationship. Adil grew increasingly intolerant of Haneesha’s travels and had previously objected to them, sometimes resorting to violence. Frustrated with Adil’s behavior, Haneesha decided to end the relationship.
The situation escalated when an argument ensued between the two, culminating in Adil attacking Haneesha with a knife. After the assault, Adil attempted to flee the scene but was caught by local residents who then handed him over to the authorities.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. A case has been registered at the Kunigal Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
