Mamata Banerjee Attributes Survival to Quick Application of Handbrakes in Accident
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered injury in an accident while returning from Burdwan on Wednesday. She sustaining a small head injury. The incident occurred when a speeding vehicle abruptly appeared in front of her car.
Banerjee, aged 69, credited the application of hand brakes for her survival. She expressed a sense of fever and cold following the accident but refused hospitalization, stating that the police would handle the investigation.
Banerjee had initially traveled to Burdwan by helicopter for a government event but had to return by road due to adverse weather conditions. Despite the head injury, she declined medical attention upon reaching Kolkata and was treated with a band-aid on her forehead by attending doctors.
