Lokayukta Strikes: Senior Government Officials Face Scrutiny in Statewide Operations

Bengaluru: Lokayukta officers conducted raids in several districts of the state this morning, targeting government officials who have accumulated assets exceeding their known income. Raids are underway at the homes and offices of officials in various districts, including Davangere, Dharwad, Belagavi, Haveri, and Bidar.

According to a report, a raid was conducted at the residence of Kamal Raj, the Assistant Director of the Industries and Commerce Department, in Davangere. His house is located on the 3rd Cross of Shaktinagar. Led by Lokayukta SP M.S. Kaulapura, along with Inspectors Madhu Sudhan and Prabhu, more than 10 personnel are involved in the inspection, said local media report.

Raid in Dharwad:

A local news source reported that the officers have raided six locations linked to KIIDB AEE Govindappa Bhajantri. Three of these raids took place in Dharwad, two in Savadatti taluk, and one in Naragund.

In connection with the allegations of illegal asset accumulation, Lokayukta officers raided a farmhouse owned by the relatives of Govindappa Bhajantri in Ugaragola, Savadatti taluk, Belagavi, reported the local media.

Raid on Rural Water Supply Assistant Engineer’s Office:

Officers raided the office and residence of Kantesh Bhajantri, the Assistant Engineer at the Rural Drinking Water Supply Department. The raids were conducted at his office in Hirekerur and two residences in the city. The officers also raided the residence of the Director of the Women and Child Welfare Department, Sreenivas Aladarti, reported several media.

Raid on Women and Child Welfare Officer’s Home:

Lokayukta officers raided the residence of Jyothi Shigli, the Women and Child Welfare Officer at Ranebennur, who is also responsible for overseeing the department in the city. The officers are inspecting records at her home in Mrityunjaya Nagar, according to local media report.

Bidar Lokayukta Raid:

Lokayukta officers, led by DYSP Hanumant, conducted simultaneous raids on the residence and office of Ravindra Kumar Rotti, the Assistant Director at the District Training Center in Bidar. The raids targeted his properties in Bidar, Bengaluru, and his office in Naubad. Ravindra Kumar had previously worked as a Shirastedar at the Bidar DC office and as an officer at the BBMP before his current role, according to reports.
