Landslide Disrupts Train Services Between Sakleshpur and Ballupete; Multiple Trains Regulated
On the night of August 10, 2024, approximately at 12:30 AM, a landslide between Sakleshpur and Ballupete has led to significant disruptions in train services. The following train services have been regulated, with further updates to be provided as the situation evolves:
- Train No. 16511 KSR Bengaluru – Kannur Express: This train, which commenced its journey on August 9, 2024, will be regulated at Alur.
- Train No. 16585 SMVT Bengaluru – Murdeshwar Express: The service, starting on August 9, 2024, will be regulated at Hassan.
- Train No. 16586 Murdeshwar – SMVT Bengaluru Express: This train, also starting on August 9, 2024, will be regulated at Sakleshpur.
- Train No. 16512 Kannur – KSR Bengaluru Express: Journeying from August 9, 2024, this train will be regulated at Sakleshpur.
- Train No. 16596 Karwar – KSR Bengaluru Panchaganga Super-Fast Express: This train, which began its journey on August 9, 2024, will be regulated at Donigal.
Relief materials and rescue teams are on site, and restoration work is currently underway. Senior railway officials, including Shri Arvind Srivastava, General Manager, and Shri K S Jain, Additional General Manager, along with the Principal Heads of Departments, are closely monitoring the situation. Ms. Shilpi Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager of Mysuru, is overseeing the restoration efforts.
