Key Forensic Reports Received in Renuka Swamy Murder Case, Chargesheet Pending
Police investigating the Renuka Swamy murder case, allegedly involving Kannada film star Darshan Thoogudeepa and his friend Pavitra Gowda, have received six forensic science laboratory (FSL) reports related to the case, according to sources.
Renuka Swamy was allegedly murdered by Darshan and his associates at a car shed in Pattangere, Bengaluru. The police have reportedly obtained six FSL reports, including a report on the CCTV footage from the car shed, fingerprint reports collected from the crime scene, and fingerprints found in a Mahindra Scorpio SUV allegedly used to transport Renuka Swamy’s body. The reports also include CCTV footage from Darshan and Pavitra Gowda’s residences, footage from Sony Brooks Pub, and data retrieved from the accused.
Sources indicate that Police Commissioner B. Dayanand held a crucial meeting with the investigation team after receiving the critical FSL reports. The police are now in the process of preparing a chargesheet against the accused. Given that there are 17 individuals involved in this case, filing the chargesheet may take some time. It is likely that the police will file a preliminary chargesheet within the required 90-day period, according to sources.
