Kerala Confirms Another Mpox Case, Health Dept. Ramps Up Precautions
Kerala’s health department confirmed a fresh Mpox case on Friday, advising anyone displaying symptoms to seek immediate medical attention. Earlier in the week, the state recorded India’s first case of the newly identified Mpox strain.
In response to this latest case, a high-level review meeting was convened to evaluate the situation, according to the health department’s announcement. Kerala Health Minister Veena George shared that contact tracing efforts for the patient have been completed, and necessary precautions are being taken.
The minister urged those returning to Kerala from overseas to promptly report any symptoms to health authorities and seek medical care. “Isolation centers have been set up across all districts,” Minister George stated, as reported by PTI.
