Kangana Ranaut Sells Controversial Pali Hill Bungalow for ₹32 Crore
Kangana Ranaut has reportedly sold her Pali Hill bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai, for ₹32 crore, according to a report by Zapkey. The actress originally purchased the property in September 2017 for ₹20.7 crore and later secured a ₹27 crore loan from ICICI Bank against it in December 2022. This bungalow also served as the office for her production company, Manikarnika Films.
The sale of the property gained attention after a YouTube channel, Code Estate, suggested that a production house office was on the market. While the video did not name the production house, it led to speculation among viewers that it belonged to Kangana. The property, covering 285 square meters with a built-up area of 3,042 square feet, includes a 500-square-foot parking space and two floors. It was initially listed for ₹40 crore.
This property has been embroiled in legal disputes in the past. In September 2020, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) partially demolished the office due to alleged illegal construction. However, the Bombay High Court intervened with a stay order, halting the demolition. Kangana later filed a lawsuit against the BMC, seeking ₹2 crore in compensation but withdrew her claim in May 2023.
The sale coincides with the anticipation surrounding Kangana’s upcoming film, *Emergency*, which has faced delays due to certification issues with the censor board. The film is also facing backlash, with various Sikh organizations, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Akal Takht, calling for a ban, alleging that it misrepresents the Sikh community and could lead to character assassination.
In summary, Kangana’s bungalow sale marks a significant financial move amid ongoing controversies regarding her property and her forthcoming film.
