Bengaluru: The Chief Minister’s Office has clarified that there is no proposal before the government to provide a 4% reservation for minorities in government contracts.

In a media clarification, the CM’s office stated, “There have been reports in some media outlets claiming that there is a proposal before the government to provide reservations for Muslims in government contracts. While it’s true that such a demand has been made, there is currently no proposal before the government regarding this matter.”

“There have been reports suggesting that the Congress government is considering a proposal to provide a 4% reservation for minorities in government contracts up to ₹1 crore. A delegation of Congress Muslim legislators had met the Chief Minister and requested a 4% reservation for minorities in contracts. On August 24th, Congress Muslim leaders had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this regard.”
